I know, I know, I have already put up orange themed photos this week, but I have some amazing orange funguses – I like that word more than fungi – in my yard, so wanted to share. They are growing on a dead tree limb.
Taken with my Fujifilm FinePix A607 camera, on macro, for this challenge at the blog of Jennifer Nichole Wells.
Next weeks colour is Eggplant. Huh? oh right, purple! used to be my favourite colour.

Love these! Thanks for sharing 🙂 This fungus is definitely interesting.

Are they edible?

Ha ha ha! I wouldn’t touch found funguses with a ten foot pole! We cleaned windows for an Italian family and you should have seen the stuff they preserved! I’m not even game to eat the old plain field mushroom now, not as soon as the flesh turns yellow as I peel it. I buy my mushies. You know, Carol Ann, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if it was edible. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr, yuk, gag.
