On the way home from work – taken with a nearly flat phone.
It is as I feared – photos on the phone always go grainy when it’s nearly flat or there is little light. The rainbow was actually glowing, and you can see that from the reflection on the road. The last sunlight is brushing the top of the range. It was still raining.

Did you find the pot of gold or turn off to go home. Rainbows are magical things, make you feel happy.

The photo doesn’t do it justice. The other end looked to be over our place – until we got there! The gold mining people are asking for an exploration licence to investigate just up and over the other side of the road!

Typical, not happy with what they already have.

Get yourself a battery powered charger, you just connect and voila, instant power. They aren’t very expensive and come with connections to match most phones.

I’ve been eyeing off one of those power storage devices, Sue – they’re a brilliant idea and can charge a phone up several times, never be without power again

So beautiful. Even with a less-than-satisfactory photo, I can still tell how vivid it was!

Serves you right for letting your bloody ‘phone run down.

I’d flattened during the afternoon while taking photos of video lecture points on the climate change MOOC. I’d turned the phone right off to conserve the battery and I was sure the rainbow would fade before it powered up enough. It took ages.

How do you ‘power up’ a mobile when you’re outdoors ???

It wasn’t flat yet, M-R. Before I left home I turned it into “off off”, not “standby off”. So, by “powering up”, I mean it had to go through it’s start up sequence – power on, read chip, operating system, look for a signal, all that stuff. 🙂

Oh yes, I forgot about all the wireless stuff. When I power up my mobile I plug the thinggy in to the wall switch. 😀

I charge mine with the thing plugged into the wall, too, M-R.

I should have just said “I switched the phone on and it took ages” sorry for confusing you, M-R. ❤
