I LOVE the sulphur-crested in flight – although limited by the netting; one never gets to see a single one of ’em, normally … Well done you !
It’s a net curtain, M-R. It’s more obvious in certain lighting, and if I’m a bit too close to the window. Since I’ve started putting the seeds out, the same three cockies are around, some galahs, crimson rosellas and those elusive colourful lorikeets. The sparrows haven’t cottoned on yet!
The white ones are common here, Elizabeth. A pest actually, especially in the vineyards. We rarely see the black ones. I love having birds here. I started putting water and seed out during the drought, but stopped with the seed when whole flocks of them turned up. Just started with the seed again.
Absolutely beautiful. It must have heard the camera click, or your heavy breathing. Crawling along the floor, war dance out in the back garden, what’s next?
The same bird, different poses with witty (?) tags. You might have to run your cursor over the slideshow to activate it? Anyway, the controls come up once you get there. 😀
Ah I missed this! Yeah Cockatoos…lol, So where’s everybody else (the rest of the flock) when this guy descends? Do you know? As we’ve discussed before we don’t have these guys in the wild. I still can’t imagine seeing them out my window and I have no doubt they’re pests. My Umbrella (White) Cockatoo can be a pest.
But these are so cute, great timing and yes I like your slideshow. Fun! 🙂

I actually crawled along the floor to get that close. I just went out and put fresh seed out, but I’ll leave the poor thing be today!
