I started packing away the Xmas decorations today.  I even got the tree back into it the box with plenty of room to spare.

This is a lovely little note left by Maykayla on Xmas day. Created with her Xmas present I guess (I didn’t see it until after she went home. I cannot believe that it never occurred to me to take photos on the day. I am still kicking myself that I didn’t think to line the family up in Mortlake for photos either!

I wasn’t kidding about the size of the compost heap!

It is a virtual jungle in this corner of the yard behind it. All the weeding and clearing activity at the moment takes place around the house. Sometimes there are advantages to neglect … I wouldn’t have the peppercorn tree, gum tree, nor the palm tree if I was fanatical with weeds. Things got away from me when I had crook elbows (had two tennis elbows at the same time) then crook wrists. Then I tied myself to the computer when I got hooked on family history.  And now, the body parts are fit and I have the yearning to get everything under control. Started clearing in the spring, but it just keeps growing! Funny that.
