This weeks photo for Jennifer’s One Word Photo Challenge: Bronze
Statue of ‘Liberator’ Daniel O’Connell in the grounds of St Patrick’s Cathedral, Melbourne, Australia.
Daniel O’Connell was an Irish political leader in the first half of the 19th century. He campaigned for Catholic Emancipation and our local Irish population appreciated his actions.
This statue, cast in Belgium, was originally erected in front of the cathedral in 1891, but was later moved to make way for the statue of an Archbishop. (Taken with my FujiFilm Finepix A607 in 2012.)
