Haiku Challenge: This Old Woman

I’ve been wanting to try Ronovan’s Weekly Haiku Challenge.

It’s taken me ages to write something which I think qualifies and still allows me to show you my upcoming sewing project. I scored 3 metres of vintage material on eBay, and it arrived today. Hard to believe its 30 years old! The pattern is vintage as well, but I loved it at first sight. I expect to make a skirt and the strappy top.

I’m using the Haiku Poem – English Form. 17 syllables over three lines in a 5 / 7 / 5 pattern. Two complete sentences overlapping in the middle. Supposed to make some sort of sense and point to opposing ideas. I think I’ve done okay.

Ronovan gives two words to be used – Cover, Colour – synomyns are allowed as long as it doesn’t change the meaning. Here goes …

That was fun.

Have a nice day / evening / whatever!  🙂

On my fence: Rainbow Lorikeets

Last night, one of the lorikeets landed by the seed on the fence while I was still nearby – cameraless. Tonight, I coaxed it down for these photos. Eventually I left so its mate could come down, too. (Nokia Lumia 530)

Sent from my phone. 🙂

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Painted Haybales

So here we go, I thought it about time I joined in again for this weekly photo challenge over at Cee’s.  A new theme every Tuesday, this week is anything painted.

I was considering giving you a boring photo of peeling paint, but I had a stroke of luck yesterday on our trip to visit Mr R’s mum when we spotted these painted haybales just off the Digger’s Rest / Bulla Road.

Painted Haybales

I’m fairly certain they are characters from SpongeBob Squarepants. [Sue and Claudette inform me that the middle one is a Minion, from the movie ‘Despicable Me.’]

They brought a smile to this old girl’s dial! Have a good day and thanks for looking. 🙂
