Late yesterday, I took these photos through the window by my back door. Of course, there were a lot of photos and a lot of choices to be made about what to share. So, in the end, I chose the photos based on the number of sparrows – the first image with the required number, regardless of focus!
Sparrows are pretty little birds, and one I tend to disregard as ‘only a sparrow’. They put on a magnificent show for me.
I hope the coming weekend holds promise for you. I have a cold. Lots of coughing and sniffing – and snivelling!
Thanks for looking. I hope the sparrows made you smile. Did you count them?
🙂
Lovely photos Christine. Yes, they are only sparrows, and can be a nuisance being an introduced species, but they are quite cute and have a nice chirrup call. And they look like they’re having a great time in the water. Hope you feel better soon.

Thank you Sue. My lackadaisical feeling today is a good thing, it seems. I’ve line-edited 5 scenes by 1pm. Yesterday, it took all day to do 3! I’ve had a few cups of chicken soup and going to have a nap shortly. Thanks for your kind words.

Yes, counted every single one. Grew up with heaps of sparrows on the power lines and flitting through the trees. Seems to be a lot less than what there used to be. A lot of people look on them as a pest, I can’t see what the sparrows do that is any different to what every other bird does (Seagulls don’t count)

A lot of people just automatically frown on introduced species – never mind what harm some of our natives do to other birds. I couldn’t imagine living with seagulls as a permanent visitor!
