On the 24th October, following a seizure on the evening of the 22nd, we sent Vika to a peaceful end at the Cobram Veterinary Clinic.
We are spending the remainder of our time at Big Tom’s Beach in quiet reflection, preparing ourselves for a life without her. After nearly seventeen years, she will conspicuous by her absence for a very long time.

So sorry for your loss.

Oh Christine I’m so sorry for you both. You had a wonderful companion for a long time. You will find it hard for a while, but you have some beautiful memories of her time with you to look back on. Glad she didn’t suffer for long and you were able to help her passing.
Hugs to you both. Love, Sue

Thank you, Sue. It’ll hit us hardest, I expect, when we get home. Bit surreal at the moment.

Yes, it will be hard when you arrive home without her. Just remember that she will always be with you in your heart, it’s just the physical part that is not there any more. It takes a while, but knowing that you did the best for her helps a lot. Pets are marvellous companions, they give so much and ask for so little in return.

Thank you Claudette. I love the photo of her sleeping – she looked exactly the same as she was put into her final sleep. I will do a collage of her one day, for our wall.
