So, here I am, 65 years of age, and grown up with cats as part of my life and I never knew about a tabby cat’s coat being identified as such by a distinctive ‘M’ on their forehead!

Wikipedia says:-  “tabby is any domestic cat (Felis catus) with an ‘M’ on its forehead, stripes by its eyes and across its cheeks, along its back, and around its legs and tail, and (differing by tabby type), characteristic striped, dotted, lined, flecked, banded or swirled patterns on the body—neck, shoulders, sides, flanks, chest and tummy.

I first saw this cat, belonging to my neighbour, when it was a kitten.  It was the tiniest kitten I’ve ever seen with its eyes already colour-changed. It’s mother had it stashed in our backyard.

So, about the ‘M’ – I’m hoping this isn’t one of those things I’ve known about, and forgotten! I suspect it might be. [sigh]

Do have a good day.
