Bees & Bugs

Bee Feasting on Dandelions

We have another dreary wet day in store. I thought some pretty bee pictures would brighten my morning. I took these in my backyard a week or so ago with the NikonD3000 on auto.

Thanks for looking.

I’ve ordered Nikon D3000 for Dummies from Book Depository so maybe I will learn to use the Nikon. I did do a general online class with Shaw Academy when GoDaddy gave me a free course selection. I took lots of notes but didn’t follow through.  I’ve already downloaded Nikon D3000: From Snapshots to Great Shots to my Kindle but a digital book just isn’t the same as a real one. Out of sight, out of mind. I can leave the Dummies one on my coffee table and leaf through it until I know it backwards.

As with everything, only the doing will produce results!

Speaking of GoDaddy, I ditched  the author website with them when the renewal came up – it wasn’t doing anything, probably because I pretty much ignored it. I have a new .com website here with WordPress. More on that later when I get it going.

I hope you enjoy the bees as much as I do. All the best.  🙂

wattlebird

Wattlebird, euclytptus blossom

I think this is one of the best images I’ve got of a wattlebird, so far. The tree is always in heavy shadow and the birds just a little too high up. Another lens would be useful.

New Holland honeyeater – nearly!

New Holland Honeyeater: I am looking forward to the day when I have perfected the art of capturing this bird flying with a bit of clarity. Today, this bird flew only a foot above my head, chasing a wattlebird out of the ivy. Too late to raise the camera, they were gone. It has a surprising amount of yellow in its wings.

After days of non-stop rain, these galahs were soaked and miserable-looking. That is an unused three-roomed bungalow behind them. Each year I think is the year we will freshen it up but of course, we don’t. Perhaps this summer. It needs painting and renovation – much like our house, which is why I have never put up an image up of it, ever.   🙂

I expected the rosella to fly away, so I was a little quick – a lot of camera shake.
