Kangaroo (same one)

This is the kangaroo that visited last week – in the standing position checking out vehicles driving by on the highway. He was listening all the time, but was not the least perturbed by us talking in the kitchen. I took these through my window. I was not out there with him.

He left when a 4WD vehicle pulled up out front – out of his sight – and rumbled for ages. He had to go look. I followed (in my nightgown) and startled him when I looked around the bushes in our driveway. He headed off to the scrub. Somewhere in there they hop over the fence into the paddock on the right, and then spend the day laying around under gum trees between bouts of grazing.

Ronovan Writes Haiku Challenge: Sun, Moon

Another Haiku challenge for Ronovan Writes #93. The challenge words are Sun & Moon.

The two sentences…

On sun-drenched nectar, a bee feeds and pollinates.

A bee feeds and pollinates: borne on moon-beam wings.

The opposites …

Ummm … sun & moon, light & dark … bees do not come out at night?

The image …

Kangaroo in my yard

A couple more pics of our early morning visitor.

I finally braved plucking** plugging my Nikon D3000 directly into my computer – my card reader died weeks ago, so I haven’t been putting my images on this computer for sharing. I plugged in the Nikon, turned on the camera and everything transferred just fine.  Phew.

I was surprised to see how the kangaroo lay one arm along the ground so as to reach the grass more comfortably. Check out those claws.

**  I have to watch my brain these days. I would never make simple homophone mistakes in the past – ever – but now … gosh.

Have a good day. 🙂
