Cee’s Share Your World – 2015 Week #2.
Are you a hugger or a non-hugger? Hugger … now. I wasn’t born that way, but Mr Ex’s sister and sister-in-law are huggers and I got used to it . I’d be leaving my mum in Adelaide, and I started feeling awkward about just giving her a kiss on the cheek. After a few years I said goodbye with a hug and she looked so surprised, but pleased too. Now she expects it. Yes, I’m a hugger.
What’s your favorite ice-cream flavor? Easy, Rum and Raisin. Adore it! Haven’t had it for years. I never think to make my own ice-cream.
Do you prefer exercising your mind or your body? How frequently do you do either? I always feel satisfied after one of my infrequent bouts of housework or gardening. I’m even getting used to a half hour on the treadmill most days and I love walking. But I prefer to exercise my mind. My brain was getting a good workout while I was spending all my free time on family history – both looking into mine and searching other people’s lines. Years and years of entering facts and figures into my database. Last year, my mind has stretched even further, once I discovered MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses). I’ve signed up for a few too many again this year. I’m revisiting some I didn’t complete or even start. I’m also doing a class on academic writing so I can cope with the written essay assignments. You know, presenting arguments and such, damn critical thinking! 😮
Are you more of a dog person or a cat person? Why? Cat person, for sure. I love Vika, my little dog – but I grew up with cats and one day I fully intend to have a cat again. When I’m retired, and done travelling.
Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
I’m grateful that my visit to the doctor last week revealed that my blood pressure is even better than it was the time before. Also, the ultrasound I had Dec 29th on a big lump near my spine ( first noticed in 2009) confirmed it was only a cyst and we’ll leave it well alone unless it begins to bother me. (It has been looked at by a doctor before, but he never said anything about it, apart to say it was nothing to worry about.) How big? I can hear you wondering from here! My discrete lipoma is 5.9 x 3.8 x 1.2 centimetres.
I’m looking forward to getting lots of writing done this coming week. It finally dawned on me NOT to have a quick look at my blog or emails BEFORE writing. So when I turn on the computer I pull the internet plug. That has worked fine the last two mornings and I’m getting a bit done. To get in the mood I’ve fiddled with what is there until I move on. I’ve also abandoned doing my exercise straight after the dog walk, followed by breakfast. Now I walk the dog, breakfast, then write. Okay, so it’s only been two times … 😀 I’m looking forward to making it work.
