Wet Cockatoos

It rained most of the night  and if I’m going to meet my step quota I’ll have to take the stuff off the treadmill.

There was a fifth one, but it flew up into the tree.

Shortly after I took this photo, the wind came up and almost flew blew them off the fence.

  1. Hasn’t the weather been wild today? And such a contrast to yesterday! We are thanking our lucky stars as the Youngest Son had a whole school photo done yesterday (2000+ students and 250 staff from across five campuses!). I think they’d have been in trouble trying to do it today!

Yes, its icy outside, the wind this morning was very strong and rained for about an hour. Of course the weather forcast was for showers later in the afternoon??? They have been playing pin the tail on the donkey again. OK, so we have bird bath on the list, bird feeder and now a nice little shelter so they don’t get wet, “The Cockie Chalet”, “Parrot Paradise” sounds rather good. So now there is a sign to go up in the front yard. Spoilt little devils.

    • No singing I’m afraid. They have an awful harsh screech. Sometimes one will sit in the tree and just screech as loud as it can. I think it is learning that I might bring out seed when it does that. They are a bird that cannot fly silently – they seem to screech the whole time so a large flock makes a real racket.
