I am so happy with todays birds. Now lots of galahs have turned up when I put more seed out so “my” cockies would get some. Lots of lovely photos to share. Now, must finish sorting the papers on my desk. The Two cockies have arrived. I’ll have to put out more food at this rate.

Is this a different camera? The pink is so bright, beautiful

No Sue, it’s the same phone camera (Nokia 530), but I discovered that if I tilted the top forward, the colours brightened.

Wonderful photos and colorful birds. Don’t they leave a ‘mess’?

Hope you buy your seed in bulk, you seem to be getting more and more birds every day. One of them has put the word out the your restaurant is open

The front of that brick wall has beak-scratches on it that translate to exactly that.

Bit like Gandalf’s mysterious mark on Bilbo’s front door (The Hobbit).

I only allow one plastic cup full a day, Sue. They can go root around in the ground if they want more. On my walk this morning there were 10 birds across the road watching me, and 6 up in the gum out front. So I didn’t put any out until we came back from work after lunch. Just after 4pm and two have just arrived.

You are so fortunate in the variety and beauty of the birds that visit you. Sadly, my husband and I have seen only robins, siskin, goldfinches, purple finches, sparrows, and doves for several weeks now. Oh, and I can’t forget the downy woodpecker that puts in an appearance now and then and the raven that drops by to dip stale bread in our birdbath before he eats it. All in all, now that I list them, I guess it’s not such a barren summer after all.

You get used to seeing them all the time, and sort of overlook all the wonderful variety of visitors.
