This was the best I could do, today – using the FujiFilm FinePix A607 camera on macro. I had trouble photographing these native blue-banded bees before. I’m hoping their cousin, the teddy-bear bee, turns up too. I introduced both bees back in February. I was really excited then as it was my first sighting of these big bees.
I prefer my Nokia Lumia 520 windows phone for taking macro images, but the battery is flat. 😮 I have trouble getting the FinePix lined up right.
I’m sorry I’ve neglected you all. Take care. ❤
Never seen a blue-banded bee before – interesting!

I hadn’t either, not until earlier this year. The teddy bear bee turned up first, and then I noticed the blue-banded ones – just a little smaller. I thought the Pommy bumblebee had escaped from Tasmania!

FLAT BATTERY, shame, shame, shame. Don’t we just all do that, and get cross with ourselves when we need them.

Ha, turned out the battery wasn’t flat at all – had 87% left. Just I use the camera button to turn it on, and it is being ornery. 😀

You need to get one of those multi socket power boards and line up all the chargers every night. Great shot of the bees, rather promising for the honey industry one would think.

LOL. Sue, my old Nokia has a broken on/off button, and I can’t shut it off. I can start it by using the camera button. It’s supposed to turn itself off after the specified time but it keeps turning itself on for no apparent reason. I’ve resorted to taking the battery out. I must get it fixed. 🙂 We have so many bees here because of the commercial honey blokes.
