There was a photo somewhere. We have to common evils with red eyes and horrible sqwarks (that’s not the official title but it suits them). I just call them Turbo Chooks.
I think I’ve got the name mixed up. Either swamphen or moorhen – not both! I’ve always called them an Eastern Swamphen, and now I don’t know where I got the moorhen from at all. 🙂 I daresay I will have another post for them, since I have a million photos.
I do like these ones so much more than the horrid ones that live on my lawn.

you got that right, and they make an absolutely dreadful noise, and are quite aggressive (they chase the cats away).

The blue is gorgeous! Does it shift shades a bit when they move?

It is a pretty blue, but I don’t think it shifts more than you’d expect. I’ll have to take note in my oodles and oodles of photos I took.
