There wasn’t much about early yesterday, so I snapped some shots of sparrows in the tree next door – liking the way the light shone golden off this one in particular – before they flew away.
Wasn’t until I download just now, that I discovered it was a silvereye! The next one is a sparrow, though.

They’re a shy bird, M-R, and migratory. I discovered they move ‘north’ when it cools, so this one could actually be from Tasmania, whilst ours are gone. I see them in my grapevine, at the grapes, but they vanish if I appear.

The ‘Birds in Backyards’ website is my friend, and Wikipedia. I looked it up way back when I first spotted them in my backyard, yonks ago. 🙂
