We haven’t walked since Monday, after I did the grocery shopping, but I only took the phone camera. This particular walk was on the previous Monday. We headed off over the footbridge, along the service road towards town.
… past the mob of coloured sheep, all strung out across their paddock. We eased uphill…
… until we turn left into Spring Flat road.
Once we’d cleared the intersection and crossed the road, I turned around and took a snap of the view behind us, on the other side of the highway. There’s that range.
Continuing on, we pass a local wood-cutter’s yard…
… and bunched rural mailboxes…
We turned left at Jackson’s Lane. A vineyard on one side. Last time we’d walked here, I had the camera but couldn’t take pictures of numerous galahs because I’d forgotten the SD card (yes, again). But, apart from a few skittish magpies, not a bird to be seen today!
I suppose that high fence deters both kangaroos and grape thieves. Jackson’s Lane curves uphill, passing a horsey place. Then I spot a flock of firetails.
They were a bit elusive. Mr. R. got a rest while I tried my best to frame more than two birds.
In a front garden, I spot a digging dog…
We turn left again, into Dairy Flat road, the range back in front of us…
I spot a common grass blue butterfly.
And then I think I’m taking pictures of a flock of crows… oops, a murder of crows.
But then I realize they’re probably black cockatoos.
We turn right into Argyle Street, homeward bound and I stop to take photos of the gazanias on the roadside…
And a small white butterfly…
Tried to photograph a pair of plovers…
And then we popped back over the footbridge, and back home.
Thanks for walking with me.
Take care.
🙂

A few weeks back, I sneaked home a few pieces of the gazanias for the garden. Doing well. [grin] Those damned plovers are very skittish. I adore them.

We have lovely blue skies this morning, after the frost, so looking forward to another long walk today. Glad I didn’t wear you out, Sue (presuming that ‘Someone’ is you. [grin]

Excellent photos. On a phone-camera. Knocks socks off the quality of the pics I get on mine.

Thanks Crispina, but these are taken with the Nikon D3000 – my phone camera reference was to the lack of photos to share from my big walk last Monday. My new phone takes dark photos. Will have to investigate and adjust the settings.
