Spotted this colourful Crimson Rosella whilst walking the back lanes last week.
Until I processed the images, I didn’t realise he was perched on a bundle of old fencing wire, eating a rose hip.
I missed out on a wonderful shot as he flew right towards me, before veering right. A lovely splash of brightness on a dull day.
Thanks for looking. Do have a great weekend, and stay safe.
🙂
Always think SAUCE when I see one. Beautiful birds.

He is handsome. I haven’t sighted one down here, so far. And we didn’t have them up in Sydney. So I am happy to have hard evidence of their existence. 😀

Oh, I do hope you see some there eventually, M-R. ‘Birds in Backyards’ says “Red (crimson) birds occur in northern Queensland, in southern Queensland to south-eastern South Australia and on Kangaroo Island.”
