We did a 6km walk the other day, investigating how close the Caledonia Gully Reservoir is to us, via the forest. We thought it’d be quicker to take the lanes which take us past the farmland with the alpacas. I was pleased to see them on the dam bank.

Such adorable creatures. Anyway, we discovered we’d taken the long way if we were to visit the reservoir which holds water from Lake Eppalock as part of our town water reserves. We had already walked well over 3km when I thought I could see the embankment wall through the trees. Mr R. didn’t think I was right, but agreed after we consulted a google map later. What? Consult it before leaving? Where’s the fun in that! I’m expecting the upcoming walk to the dam will be subjected to the  Wednesday Walk treatment.

The poor tomcat is battered. I’m showing his better side. We’d just come back from our walk – a mere 2 kms today, 6 kms yesterday – when I spotted him for the first time in weeks. His left eye is bloody, he has an extra gash across his nose, and his right ear looks a little battered. I thought I’d cheer him up.

Mum and her white kitten heard the rattle of dry food. No matter how far I spread the food, they bunch up to eat.

Thanks for looking. Do have a good weekend. Stay safe.

This walk was a week ago now, last Thursday – oops, I’ve owned up I’m late with this walk post – we ended up covering new ground and the best part of eight kilometres.

Off over the footbridge and at some stage turned left and then right into Argyle Street, where a magpie kindly landed in a tree near the merino sheep’s paddock, posing briefly.

Of course, on any walk, I don’t know how many photos I’ll end up with. This post has a lot, and I’m sorry, but we’re stuck with the blue background.

Continuing on, past the concrete kangaroo fence, up over the hill where I check wattle trees for bees. Just a few could be seen. Continue reading
