I’m not sure if this is a really old kangaroo, or one that bears old injuries from colliding with a car – perhaps both.  He is a loner. Yesterday, while walking Vika, I noticed he was grazing on the side of the lane behind our house. This morning, he was even closer and I managed to lean over the fence to get a few shots before he realized I was there.

He didn’t go far. This next shot is across the paddocks from other side of our place.

The Red Kangaroo is the world’s largest surviving marsupial and can grow up two metres tall  and weigh 90 kilograms. We don’t usually see the red ones here, but on this day there were a few among the many greys.

Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week is Wildlife. The most common wildlife around here, of course, is the kangaroo. All these fellows are from my blog photo archives.

The male gray kangaroo in the next images was inside our yard, 2016.  Now that the grass has really dried right off in the paddocks, I notice the ‘roo droppings getting closer to the house.

Next, the kangaroo fence in a nearby street. Each cast concrete kangaroo has coloured marbles for eyes. ( Nokia Lumia 520 window phone).
