This walk was Sunday, 21st June, 2020. First off, we headed down Joe’s Road,  checking where the cows were, and hoped for kangaroos. Both were having an afternoon snooze.

The first destination is Barri’s Lane which runs along the hill top, among the trees.

A quick glimpse of a bird of prey on high – a wedge-tailed eagle, perhaps.

We turn into Barri’s Lane – both named after Joseph Barri, an early Italian settler. Lots of photos today. Continue reading

Wednesday Walk

A long walk

Sometimes, kangaroos will stay put and just watch you. Other times, no matter how carefully or non-threatening you move, they will take off! I try to hide behind a tree when getting closer for a better photo, but you have to get out from behind it eventually.

It was a dull day yesterday, fog enshrouded until after midday so the forest was dull.

The sun started coming out as we neared home, but not helpful for these next shots. At the start of our walk, a much smaller group of kangaroos in this same spot didn’t bother moving. On our return, the flighty ones set off the rest.

Several days ago, whilst walking in the State forest down the back of our place, we spotted this kangaroo family. Almost didn’t see them, for I’d been bird-spotting. Just some quick photos against the light, before they turned and bounded through the trees.
