I’m reblogging this collection of statues, recently seen by Joanne in her Scandinavian travels (posted September). To the Norse warrior, dying in battle, sword in hand, was a very big thing. There was no better way to ensure entry into their version of Heaven. I can’t imagine one could stand before anyone of these magnificent statues without feeling an onrush of emotion. Awesome.

New cover
Overnight, I had second thoughts about the cover I knocked up in Canva (posted yesterday). Too fussy, bad colours, and I think it probably yelled chicklit. Well, my novel might be chicklit meets fantasy, but I’m not objective enough to know.
Back to Canva this morning and made this one. It says fantasy.

I also dropped the series title from ‘The Innkeeper’s Daughter’.
The description on Wattpad: [edited in May, I’ve changed the description]
Taniel has been obsessed with dragons all her life. She knows that the best way for a woman to get close to a dragon is through a dragonrider. But a dragonrider will never consider marrying a lowly innkeeper’s daughter. Not when they have the compulsion to marry within their own gene pool.
Unless … unless they want out … unless they want an inn of their own.
Taniel is furious when she finds out her intended has left the dragonriders. And this is where we join her journey. What is she willing to do, now, to get into the dragons’ world?
Of course it’s not going to be straightforward – not with a witch or two thrown into the mix, along with wizards of dubious intent. Add a vague goblin threat, pirates, a little shape-shifting, and you never know what is going to happen next. Maybe you will … depends if I do my job well enough.
There will be the odd swear word, adult themes, and some violence. My grandchildren can read it.
This first book of the series currently stands at around 80,000 words and each book will be a complete story. Book One: Taniel (ebook) will be published on Amazon and Smashwords on 13th April 2016.
I use Australian English.
I will give you at least three scenes a week: Monday, Wednesday & Friday until completion of the series. I will never ask that you make a purchase to find out what happens in the end.
I invite constructive criticism. I mightn’t like it, but I’m still inviting it.
WARNING: ADVERBS – I read a book laden with adverbs recently, and I realized just how much I missed them. So, I have a sprinkling. Get over it.
Enjoy.
And, so you don’t have to leave my blog to read the first and only scene that has gone live, ever, I’ve added a page to the menu in the top bar. Okay, it’s not real obvious. It drops down from the About Me tab. [edited May – link still works but ‘Taniel’ has its own tab ]
Have a good day. 🙂
Wattpad. I’ve started!
I’ve started publishing my novel, Taniel, on Wattpad. I’m going to post three scenes a week until it is done. I’ll still be publishing the first ebook on Amazon and Smashwords, come 13th April 2016. I’m so excited that I have finally taken this first step!

Taniel. The interim cover and series title
This temporary cover was made on Canva, and the series title isn’t the real one. One specific word in the real title comes up just once in a google search, so it’s staying secret until April. And I thought Taniel was a made up name until I went to Wattpad.
