Skinks

Skinks are one of my favourite creatures. Here are some photos I took at the weekend with the Nikon D3000.

I expect these are the common Garden Skink. One kindly posed for me while I steadied the camera on a piece of wood. The others skurried into the wood pile.

Thanks for looking.

A Daily Walk in Greyscale

I’m sharing these photos for Sally D’s Mobile Photography Challenge: Black and White
On her blog, Sally shares two fascinating examples of street art.

Here are some of the sensory moments I have each day when walking Vika. Changing the images to B&W breaks them down to the basic elements capturing my attention.

The feature photo shows flowering clover and belladonna straps, down by the footbridge at the end of our service road.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Arctotheca calendula is a plant in the sunflower family commonly known as capeweed, plain treasureflower, cape dandelion, or cape marigold because it originates from the Cape Province in South Africa. It is also found in neighboring KwaZulu-Natal

Arctotheca calendula is naturalized in California, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Australia, and New Zealand, and considered a noxious weed in some of those places

It is a noxious weed in our parts of Australia.

I’m scraping into Sally D’s ‘macro week’ by the skin of my teeth! Next week is Black & White.

Thanks for looking. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.   🙂
