I found the plastic identification tag for the silvery plant with the purple flowers: centaurea gymnocarpa. The two I have are the Dusty Miller, growing 80 cm high with a spread of 1.2 metres. I reckon the one in my front side garden is larger than that. The one up the back has been flattened by the wind somewhat and is nowhere near as impressive.

Thanks for looking.

Do enjoy your weekend and the approaching festive season.

Dusty Miller, a bee & a butterfly

These purple flowers took ages to flower from buds. Talk about impatient!

I can’t remember the name and, after rooting around underneath the two lanky bushes, I couldn’t find the plastic tags. I know I took photos of the labels but … my PC files are like my house.

Anyway, the Small White butterflies love the thistle-like blooms.

Thanks for looking.
